UMACT X the Gateway

We are thrilled partner with the Gateway to serve a dinner meal to its residents. Please arrive by 3:45 P.M. for orientation, so dinner can be served from 4:30 P.M. to 5:30 P.M. This event is open to those 21 and above.

The Gateway is a 120-bed shelter for men experiencing homelessness in Toronto. Beyond providing the basic necessities of food and shelter, Gateway also offers one-on-one counselling services—everything from addictions supports to goal setting to chaplaincy, housing support and various health promotion programs. The goal at Gateway is to meet the holistic needs and develop the gifts of everyone who comes through the doors, for everyone who shows up at the shelter to leave having experienced growth and positive change. The Drop-In Program is central to the mission and vision of the Gateway. Open from 1 pm – 7 pm five days a week, the drop-in is a safe and welcoming place where anyone, regardless of their circumstances, can access hot meals, recreational programming, warmth and a place for friendships to develop. The drop-in plays a crucial role in keeping men and women off the streets and it also serves to support individuals who’ve moved on from the shelter into a place of their own.
