National Championship : University of Michigan vs Villanova
April 2, 2018 @ 9:00 pm - 11:00 pm
“Aggressive and confident, as always, and we see what happens,” Moritz Wagner said after Saturday night’s game against Loyola-Chicago. The Michigan Wolverines basketball team is now playing for a national title game after coming back to beat the Ramblers 69-57.
The University of Michigan men’s basketball team was unranked in the first week of January 2018, not even receiving a single vote in the Associated Press poll. On Monday night (April 2), the Wolverines (33-7) will play Villanova for the national championship at the Alamodome. They have won an NCAA-leading 14 consecutive games — defeating three top-10 teams along the way — while winning the Big Ten Tournament, finishing the season ranked No. 7 and earning a No. 3 seed on the road to the Final Four. The Wolverines are seeking their second national title. Michigan “Shocked the World” in 1989 win an OT victory over Seton Hall for its only basketball NCAA Division I national championship. With a win on Monday night, John Beilein will record his 800th career coaching win.
The watch party location will be in Toronto’s beach at the Gull & Firkin, more centrally located for more alumns. Look for a Michigan swag raffle and all sorts of fun on Monday night.
Come join the fun with your fellow UM alumni and watch history being made.
